The Knot Magazine hired TrazerEdge for workflow consulting, training and support services for vjoon K4, a publishing platform that works in conjunction with Adobe Creative Cloud to allow editors, designers, and production professionals to collaborate more effectively.
The Knot Worldwide, formerly XO Group and The Knot Inc., is an American media and technology company that provides content, tools, products and services for couples who are planning weddings, creating a home, and starting a family. In 2000, the company publishes its own bridal magazine, The Knot Magazine, which is published four times a year and is sold both on newsstands and through subscriptions. The publication has all the inspiration and guidance couples need to plan a personalized wedding, from expert style and planning advice to fashion and beauty must-haves and tips from the wedding pros who make it all happen.
The Knot Magazine staff utilizes vjoon K4, a publishing system that works in conjunction with Adobe Creative Cloud to allow editors and designers to collaborate more effectively. The system and workflow had been in place for many years, and with recent changes to both the magazine staff and the publishing processes, management found it was time to revise the workflow configuration and then provide K4 'how-to' training for editors, designers and system admins.
Our team met with The Knot Magazine editorial and design staff to review the existing workflow, along with any challenges the team was facing. We offered suggestions on how to improve the K4 status-based workflow and provided guidance on features of K4 that could be utilized to support the new processes.
Next we provided both vjoon K4 system administration and end-user training and guided The Knot Magazine staff in the best practices for creation and usage of Adobe InDesign and InCopy templates for standard page layouts to rapidly produce content.
TrazerEdge continues to provide vjoon K4 maintenance and technical support to the end users and system administrators as they produce quarterly issues of The Knot Magazine with Adobe Creative Cloud and the vjoon K4 Publishing System.
